We need more than housing!

A city is more than a place to live!

A city happens out of doors. Its outdoor space compensates for cramped living spaces, alleviates nerve-jangling density, offers potential for development, and promotes vibrancy. The public space is a symbol of urban life, of a city that works. It offers a participatory forum for all social strata and is a platform for activities and initiatives. It is a source of inspiration, a zone of productive friction that demands tolerance.
The idea of the city cannot be dispensed with in the urgent need for residential construction! We are breaking with the hectic rush to develop and are thinking collectively. We give ourselves time to reflect – do the same for yourself!
Yes to a vibrant city.
Yes to a city that makes sense!
Yes to a city without housing ghettos!
Yes to freedom!

A city is more than a place to live!
Our cities are growing and migration flows and streams of refugees are increasing the demand for housing. It should be possible to accommodate everyone. This means a greater need for open areas, for public space.
A city happens out of doors. Its outdoor space compensates for cramped living spaces, alleviates nerve-jangling density, offers potential for development, and promotes vibrancy. The public space is a symbol of urban life, of a city that works. It offers a participatory forum for all social strata and is a platform for all kinds of activities and initiatives. It is a source of inspiration, a zone of productive friction that demands tolerance.
There is no alternative: the safeguarding of our public space cannot be left in private hands. We advocate an urban policy that does not surrender its control over the city’s design.
Loosely based on the ideas of Jane Jacobs: Stop building projects – build cities!
Yes to a vibrant city.
Yes to a city that makes sense!
Yes to a city without housing ghettos!
Yes to freedom!
